Halloween madness 2010

Rag rugs...1 done....1 sort of there!

Finished one!

And the part way there one......I need some more matching blue material and I am generally not sure about the grey material on the edge.....hmmmm...

Bleurgh......

I feel damn awful, I have a cold and a nasty, persistant cough...

Did manage to have a wander at the Downs in Dunstable with the kids today and it was lovely, the view is to die for!!

Anyways...
I have finished a circular rag rug and half finished an oval, these are both going to be my first ones for sale so...the finished one will be going in the washing machine tomorrow to make sure it stays in one piece during a wash before I sell!

Hopefully it all won't...erm...come undone?!?!?! :o


Oh and I need to get a shift on with my wings as it's Halloween this week and I have no where near finished them!
I'm not being very organised...........

Lots of lovely people...

....Gave me lots of lovely material, old bedding, old curtains etc...

There is some beautiful fabric to make some beautiful rugs...

I have started one and I am in the middle of another and have plans for many more and these ones are looking better, the shape looks neater. But I suppose practice makes perfect!

But will see how much I get done this week as we all have stinking, rotten colds!

Made from 1 duvet cover and 2 pillowcases, an oval crochet rag rug for my bathroom...

Well....

Wings still aren't finished but I am starting another rag rug for my bathroom and also doing a granny squares blanket for my bedroom...

I need to start getting through the pile of material and wool I have accumulated!!

It's finished!!

I have finally finished my daughters' rag rug, it is 39 inches in diameter and has lot of different material in it but I like it and they like it. There are so many different colours and patterns in there too and the black bit isn't black it's purple!

Good morning...

I have done some of the fancy swirl but on one wing, not as good as what it could be, it's going to need some tidying up. Far more fiddly than what I thought it would be...

Will sort some pictures out soon but my camera is being stupid!

Ok...

The single stitch around the frames is done and I am now onto the more fiddly and time consuming 'filling' pattern.

The stitching around the frame wasn't too bad, just in some spots it got a bit awkward to hold and crochet at the same time...

But looking ok so far, still a lot to do and flowers to make :)

Let's get started

I have wire (which Dave is going to bend for me), white wool and I have dug out my 5.5mm crochet hook out from behind the vivariums....so I'm good to go...

Going to get the frame into shape and tape up the ends and well ...get crocheting, I have never crocheted onto a frame so will see how it goes- hopefully ok :)

I'm also going to do some white and pink flowers and will be a flower fairy :D

Everythings on hold....

I need to make some fairy wings :)

Just need some strong wire and white wool and I am good to go...

Oh dear.....

I have found rag rugging has distracted me away from everything- making stuff for the house, needlepoint etc and I have now found something else just as exciting as rugs....
