And....

....another ball of rag yarn has been made. Took 2 tops and a pairs of shorts to make one small ball but my back couldn't take anymore sitting on the floor and cutting- I would soooo love a craft room where I can have a nice big table and comfy chair and not have to hide all my craft stuff!!

Anyway back to the corchet of the rug today and hopefully I can make it a big bigger than 18 inches!!

18 inches done...

So far...

Just now need to make lots more rag yarn...

Planning ahead

My lovely husband and I are going to be making lots of things once the stuff for the house is made, we won't just stop our hobby.
So....Unless we want a house full of rag rugs, decorated tin cans and vinyl we need to move them on, so will be looking at selling them for peanuts, or giving them away...

But we need to come up with more recycled crafts as this is far more satisfying see ing something come out of 'junk' than making something from new. Plus it's cheaper materials too!

Rag rug number 2 is well on the way...

Started the girl's rag rug today, I am doing my first ever circle crochet and so far so good, took quite sometime to make up enough rag 'yarn' to get started and I still have oodles more to cut up. I am using so many different fabrics from T-shirt material to faux leather so hopefully will look ok once done, this is going to be a lot bigger than the grey/black oval one I did so may take some time, will do a picture once it is bigger than a few inches!

Things to do....

....The list keeps getting longer...

*Applique wall hanging
*Tiebacks
*Rag rugs for girl's bedroom
*Crochet blanket for Zarah
*Granny squares for another blanket
*Rag rug for playroom
*Sort out all my 'craft stuff', it's a mess, I need some more boxes....

Lots to get on with!

Our animals

Kai the RottxGSD was our first dog and she is now 7 yrs old, Daisy the Brindle Staffy was due to be PTS last year as a 10 mth old pup because basically there was no room at the inn, so to speak so we took her to our home instead. And maggie the white and brindle staffy pup is the latest addition, she was rescued by someone else and we have given her a permanent home here.

There is also our rescued reptiles the  Boa- Aurora and Plated lizard- Homer.

Some little monster and family pictures...

So here goes with the scary pictures :D

Some pictures of the stuff I have done so far...

Crochet blanket for my daughter
Rag rug woven on a peg loom, not brilliant as it is very loose, still haven't found a really good use for the peg loom...
Some orangey coloured wool woven on the peg loom, once again quite loose so don't know how long it will last...
Crochet  phone sock, my 1st attempt at something other than a blanket!
My 1st ever attempt at Tapestry needlepoint, lots of flaws but I can see where I went wrong etc..
My 1st ever crochet rag rug, it consists of 6 T-shirts, pair of joggers and 1 fleece top, it is for my son's room..

Some crochet flowers that I had a go at but my daughter has now stolen!
A lightshade made form xylophone keys and plastic coloured cutlery..
Melted vinyl is great fun!

A new project

I have started an applique rthingy, I have never done it before so it may turn out awful....
It's of leaves and Iam not sure on the butterfly yet, but the leaves have been cut out, placed and tacked on, the canvas was also monted onto a frame just to keepit easier (in theory)...

So....Stage 1- All set up and good to go!

Crochet granny blanket and some wall plaques I made

This is just a granny blanket I made ages ago and my youngest daughter has claimed it for her daytime nap :)

And some wooden pictures made form old cd drawer fronts, some hook and eyes and some PVA'd leaves... (Sorry for got to turn it round!) Simples!

New to this!

Well here goes, some where to show all my things I make. Bear with me as Iam computer useless and my typing is terrible...

Anyhoo, I have so far made some crochet blankets, lots of bits for the house, a crochet phone sock thingymyjig, a rag rug, Ive tried ome peg loom weaving (very naff) and am just starting some applique.
I really want to have a go at Tapestry needlepoint but am unsure where to start but will try again at some point once all the other jobs are finished, need to get cracked on with a rug for my girl's room.

I love recycle stuff into crafts and buying 2nd hand bits too, so most stuff will be remade, recycled, dirt cheap etc...
Hopefully someone will read my blog stuff, if not it stops me boring my husband to death by twaffling on about crafts!
